Cocktail Bag with Mocktail Recipes Printables
I’ve become quite a little joiner since I started blogging. At Christmas time there are so many different blog hops and roundups to join in on. This one is for easy Christmas gifts to make and give. AND there is a chance to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card (see bottom of post to enter).
My project couldn’t be simpler and don’t tell anyone but Tony & Jeannine will be seeing this under the tree for them. I know they will love it and get a big laugh. YOU can whip one of these up in just a few minutes too.
What I used:
A couple of pieces of scrap fabric
Sharpie Marker
I used the Sizzix Die – Chicken #659152 in my Big Shot. If you have never used a Sizzix die, below you can see where the “cuts” actually are on the die.
Cut the fabric scrap to fit on the die.
Run the die through the Big Shot between the two protective sheets. Looks like I need some new ones.
The first cut is for the head and the body.
After you get all your pieces cut out position your pieces on your bag to make sure it is how you want it to be.
Before you apply your Fusing Powder, you will want to put something inside the bag so that the front and back of the bag doesn’t fuse together. I used a piece of cardboard because I wanted the cardboard to stay in the bag to give it more substance – I wanted it to stand up on its own.
If you want to bag to stay limp when you are through with it, you will need to place some type of non-stick material between the front and back. Believe me – Bo-Nash is incredible and when completed the cardboard will be stuck inside the bag.
Bo-Nash is a Fuse it Powder and it is incredible. If you don’t have any – get some. That’s all I’m going to say about that.
Wet the back of your fabric pieces with your fingertips or a brush. It needs to be a little wet for the powder to stick. Make sure you get the edges damp. Shake a little Bo-Nash powder on the back of your fabric pieces and then blow off the excess powder. Place your chicken on your bag – as you want it to look when finished.
Place your Bo-Nash ironing sheet over your fabric and place your iron (which is set on the highest heat), over the fabric and let heat for a few seconds.
When you remove the iron, check to make sure that all your edges have fused. If they haven’t, reapply the iron in the “trouble” areas.
Here’s my chicken – completely fused and ready to finish.
The next step was to write “Cocktails?” with a Sharpie at the top of the bag.
Put your gift bottle in your bag and tie it up with a pretty ribbon.
