Home Depot Kids Workshops
One of our fabulous sponsors at SNAP 2014 was Home Depot. If you were not aware, Home Depot offers Kids Workshops on Saturdays in their stores. During SNAP they provided some of their Kids Workshops craft packages to us. I of course, brought two home for the grandsons – Grady & Sterling. One of the crafts was a wood birdhouse.
Grady & Sterling jumped right into a new construction project. Everything in the kit is already cut and the holes are predrilled for the nails and screws but there is still lots of work for them to do. Just because it is predrilled doesn’t mean that the nails just fall in.
There is lots and lots of hammering going on.
Sterling learned how to protect his thumb while using the hammer.
After we got the sides nailed on they had to screw the bottom on. They had to screw them tight to bring the two pieces of wood together.
After we finished the construction part – the creative process began – PAINT!!
Grady wanted to try my new DecoArt Americana Multi-Surface Satin paint that I received at SNAP but I didn’t have the color he wanted. But he continued to paint – very seriously.
The finished products!
Lots of fun and easy to do. Stop by your local Home Depot and see when their next Kids Workshop is.
