Will Work For Candy Canes
Recently I was privileged to try out the new Jennifer Rizzo Mix & Match Christmas Stencils by Royal Design Studio. Love Love Love Them!
Jennifer is an unbelievable designer and Royal Design Studios makes the very best stencils. They are thick and durable. They last forever and cleanup so easy.
For my project, I used the Jennifer Rizzo Classic Letter Christmas Stencil and the Reindeer Christmas Stencil.
I love to make signs by marrying my different stencils and then adding a little extra to them. Using these two new stencils I came up with a great new and fun Christmas sign.
I had a piece of plywood already cut so I painted it with white chalk paint. After the paint dried, I marked off some lines for the lettering.
Stenciling is not as scary as it seems. I use to absolutely HATE stenciling until the great girls at Royal Stencils showed me the proper way to stencil and of course using their stencil crème paint. Royal Stencils Crème Paint makes life so much easier! Their website has very helpful tutorials too. I’ve turned into a stenciling fool – thanks to Royal Stencils.
Make sure to secure your stencil before you start to work. I find the painters tape works best.
I put three reindeer on the sign and affixed candy canes to the sign with E6000. I thought I might be finished but something seemed missing. Those reindeer needed some accessories (ribbon scraps) and of course we needed a Rudolph with a red felt nose.
Let’s not forget a decorated tomato sauce can and extra candy canes (actually attached to the sign with E6000) – just in case we have some hungry little two legged reindeer come by.
If you haven’t tried stenciling yet or you are unhappy with past performances, give Royal Stencils and the Crème Stencil Paint a try. You might just become a stenciling fool just like me.

this turned out great! =)
hahaha! So cute!
See, I can tell you build stuff and pay attention to details, making lines for your letters, instead of eyeballing it like I would have (did!) That’s why your letters and words are straight and evenly spaced and mine, not so much.
Love this cute sign and the saying. Definitely one to use year after year, but I bet you’ll have to replace the candy canes often.
My eyeballing turns into cross-eyed.
Too cute! What a clever idea!
